Julita Kucińska

who's made Madeira her second home after coming to Portugal in 2017.

Polish, in Portugal since 2017. Seven years a local guide, and four guidebooks on Madeira and Portugal with Bezdroża.

In their words

I came to Portugal in 2017, to Lisbon, and Madeira was love at first sight. It's my second home now, and I've spent seven years as a local guide.

Most of what I know about the island I didn't learn from a book, though I've written four of them. Madeirans showed me their home, a lot of it on foot, and now I'd like to show it to you.

This list is short on purpose. It isn't everything there is to see. It's what it takes to know the place, from the first poncha to the things you only do when someone who lives here takes you.
